Harry Potter Quiz

This quiz on the Harry Potter books are a good way to see if students are reading. Often, student's don't do what they are supposed to, so having a simple quiz to check that they are doing what they are supposed to will encourage students to actually do the work because they are working toward something at the end.

Telling Time

Since telling time is a life skill that is crucial, learning to tell time on an analog clock has got to be important. This worksheet is a very simple form of applying this skill of telling time for students.

In addition, here is a fun little video to go along with the concept of telling time.

I think that having a place where students can physically think about a topic is crucial in learning. When students need to think about questions and how they are going to answer, the amount of information that is learned increases. These little worksheets can make a difference in the classroom when it is time to sit back down and focus on the task at hand.

Which Words are used to Define

This interactive graphic that I recently made is about the words that we use in the English language to define things. These words are: WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY and HOW. This graphic tells what they word is used for, in terms that a younger student may understand better.

Here is the graphic in and of itself, without the interactive elements.
This graphic is practical, the words are all displayed on a page and when looking at the interactive itself, it then defines what the function of the word question is in response to the word that it is being used to define.

The link to the interactive is above.

Below this is the interactive itself, embedded on the page.

I really like how these are so simple, and the simple interaction of having to hover the mouse over the words makes it more memorable in the brain. These are a great resource to have in the classroom!
